The Government of the Russian Federation announced its readiness to compensate the beet growers of the Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia for the costs of their professional needs.
The announcement of the intention to allocate subsidies at the meeting on beet farming was voiced by Anzor Botashev, the head of the republican Ministry of Agriculture. Also at the meeting the issues of preparedness of local sugar enterprises for the time of mass processing were worked out.
It will not be superfluous to note that sugar beets, according to farmers, are a high-cost crop. It is not easy to grow and maintain vegetation; therefore, agricultural producers clearly need subsidies from the authorities.
Given these factors, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of Karachay-Cherkessia, enlisting the support of the head of the regional administration Rashid Temrezov, began to develop a project to develop beet production and sugar production in the vast republics.
As part of the program, beetroot cultivation areas will be increased and the amount of state subsidies for beet growers will be increased.
It should be noted that this year over three and a half thousand hectares were sown with sugar beets in Karachay-Cherkessia. According to the results of the season, local farmers intend to collect at least one hundred and thirty-nine thousand tons, providing an average yield of four hundred and ten centners from each ha.
