On the territory of the Crimean peninsula, the first training grounds for growing elite grapes were laid.
It is known that the educational plantation is located in the vicinity of the city of Sevastopol, where the peninsula government allocated twenty-five hectares of fertile land for the needs of beginning winemakers.
Three kilometers from the Black Sea coast, near the village of Osipenko, students of Sevastopol State University will get acquainted in practice with the principles of elite viticulture.
It is known that this year new specialties are opening at the university: “Viticulture and winemaking”, as well as “Management of the viticulture and winemaking enterprise”. The first student enrollment starts in the fall of 2019.
Pupils of new specialties will become pioneers by growing grapes at training sites and creating wine in educational wineries. After all, such a project is a novelty for the Crimea in particular and Russian winemaking in general.
It is reported that wines created from grapes personally grown and processed by students will belong to the premium and elite categories. As part of the production, students of new specialties will be trained on the basis of introducing innovative wine-making technologies into the practical process. Beginning winemakers will master the art of cryomeration, microoxidation, etc.
