Among the new breeding developments are the repairing Vivara and Murano, as well as the Aprica and Sibylla fruiting varieties in June. They have excellent palatability, high yield and easy to tolerate transportation. The emergence of new Italian varieties of garden strawberries in the State Register will enable Ukrainian berry growers to partially reimburse the cost of planting material. In addition, the inclusion of these varieties in the Register will strengthen the export position of Ukraine in garden strawberries.
According to EastFruit experts, garden strawberry cultivation is developing rapidly in Ukraine. So, in 2018, the export of this berry increased by 24% and amounted to 1.2 thousand tons of fresh and 3.7 thousand tons of frozen garden strawberries.
