Leading countries of the world and Europe expressed their willingness to purchase organic sugar produced in Ukraine. Given this, Ukrainian farmers increased the area under organic sugar beets by 100 hectares, the deputy chairman of the board of the Gnidavsky Sugar Plant, Alexander Nikishin, said.
According to Nikishin, in 2018, organic beets in Ukraine were grown on an area of 250 hectares. This year, based on the trend of increasing demand for organic products in the world and domestically, domestic farmers have expanded the cultivated area under crops by 100 hectares.
As a result, the area of organic beet cultivation was 350 ha. Harvested beets harvested from these lands will be processed at the Gnidavsky Sugar Plant.
For information, PJSC "Gnidavsky Sugar Plant", located in the Volyn region, holds the lead among sugar factories in Western Ukraine and the Volyn region.
The plant has been operating since 1958. The company was the first in the country to create its own brand - ТМ "Solodko", under which it has been manufacturing and packaging products since 2003.
The plant buys beets for sugar production in Rivne, Lviv and Volyn regions.
