A new type of penalties will be applied to unscrupulous food producers. From now on, one will have to pay dearly for incorrect, unreliable marking by GOSTs or for its absence.
Such an initiative was made by members of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology (Rosstandart), offering to punish manufacturers with a fine of one percent of the annual revenue of the offending company. If the penalty does not teach manufacturers anything, the amount of repeated violation will be 3% of the annual revenue.

It is noteworthy that a year ago, Rosstandart employees intended to label all products made in accordance with GOST standards with a special QR code. However, the initiative remained at the level of intent. And today, violators pointing to products with the wrong GOST are just entered into the so-called “black list”.
