The end of winter 2019 was marked by a significant increase in the cost of bird food. A month ago, feed prices soared to almost 19 thousand rubles per ton, which is 2.9% higher than in January and more than 22% higher than in the same period in 2018.
According to market analysts, at the beginning of 2017, prices for compound feed for birds on Russian trading floors started from 15 thousand rubles per ton. In 2019, the price indicator for the same amount of feed reached 18.7 thousand rubles.
It is noteworthy that the highest prices for feed for poultry are recorded on the market of the Southern Federal District (where the cost of production reaches twenty two and a half thousand rubles per ton). The lowest price for a similar product of the same mass is registered in the Siberian Federal District - local distributors sell compound feed at a price of 14.5 thousand rubles per ton.For clarity, we note that the average price per ton of feed in February 2017 was 17 071 rubles, in February 2018 - 15 239 rubles, in February 2019 - 18 667 rubles.
It will not be superfluous to note that today the Russian Federation mainly purchases feed for birds and animals from foreign suppliers and demonstrates its dependence on imports of these products. In order to reanimate its own feed production industry, considerable sums of money should be invested in the project.
