The Government of the Republic of Yakutia intends to allocate at least one billion one hundred million rubles in the next two years for the professional needs of reindeer herders and the development of the industry as a whole.
Such information was shared in the press service of the Republican Ministry of Agriculture.
The department also notes that over the past year the number of individuals of reindeer domestic stock has dropped to one hundred forty-six thousand. This is despite the fact that in 2018 the number of deer exceeded one hundred fifty six thousand.
Based on this disappointing information, the government of Yakutia sets a priority task for reindeer herders - to maintain the stability of the population, to ensure population growth and increase the performance of the processing component of the industry, based on the innovative achievements of specialists from around the world.
As noted in the Yakut Ministry of Agriculture, until 2021, reindeer herders of the republic will receive cash subsidies, the total amount of which will amount to 1.1 billion rubles.
Part of this assistance will cover the costs of optimizing and modernizing the material and technical bases of reindeer herding farms. Another part will go to the implementation of measures to develop the production of processed products of this livestock industry.
