The sunny weather established in recent days on the territory of Ukraine gives hope for a significant increase in the supply of garden strawberries (strawberries), which can lead to lower prices for it. According to the forecasts of relevant experts, as early as the middle of the week, bulk batches of berries can be sold for less than $ 1 / kg, EastFruit analysts inform.
Producers of garden strawberries (strawberries) of the Kherson and Nikolaev regions expect that the berry will ripen faster due to an increase in the average daily air temperature in the region to 28-30 ° С.
An increase in the number of strawberry offers on the Ukrainian market will lead to lower prices for it. Bulk batches of berries can be sold for $ 1 / kg this week. According to the forecasts of relevant experts, the berry will continue to become cheaper in the future.
Throughout the past week, the average wholesale price for garden strawberries was at the level of 35-40 UAH / kg, which is $ 1.33-1.52 / kg. And on Sunday in the southern and eastern regions of Ukraine, it fell to 30 UAH / kg or less.
Experts predict that at the end of this week, when large quantities of strawberries from the central regions of the country enter the market, it will fall even more in price.
