It is noteworthy that today the employees of the Russian poultry industry managed to set a record - the actual cost of chicken in the domestic market reached a record level in terms of the difference in prices for this product between the Russian Federation and the United States of America.

In recent years, leadership in the cheapness of chicken kept in the United States. However, in late 2018 - early 2019, the situation changed.

And today, based on statistics from food market analysts in both countries, we can say that the average retail price for chicken in the United States is just over $ 3.2 per kilogram package of meat. Whereas in Russia, a kilo of chicken gives a little more than two dollars.

After analyzing the situation, experts from the price and statistics monitoring services suggest that the situation that has developed has several causes. First of all, the drop in prices for chicken in the Russian Federation is associated with an increase in poultry stock on farms.

In addition, in recent years, Russia switched to self-sufficiency in chicken, although a few years ago (starting from the beginning of the 90s of the last century), chicken imports accounted for at least two-thirds of the total chicken meat on the trading floors of the Russian Federation.
