Agricultural enterprise "Khmelnitsky" announced a decrease in sown areas under sunflower by one and a half times.

The planned reduction in crops of this crop is not associated with its marginality. In the Vinnitsa region, sunflower is harvested at the same time as corn. Elevators prefer to take corn grain, as it takes up less space than sunflower. When last year the agricultural enterprise finished collecting the latter, it was faced with the problem that there was simply nowhere to store it, Vadim Skripnik explains.

The director of Khmelnitsky said that the decrease in sown area for this oilseed crop affected only his enterprise. In general, the situation with the Astarta agro-holding company remains stable and does not cause concern.

For information, the company is located in the village of Zhdanovka, Khmelnitsky district, Vinnytsia region and is part of the Astarta agricultural holding.

Recall that the purchase of foreign sunflower seed Ukraine is growing every year. So, in 2018, 10% more seeds were imported than in 2017.
