5 million 100 thousand hectares were sown with sunflower, or 90% of the forecast, soybean - 1 million 200 thousand hectares, or 65% of the forecast.

Earlier it was reported that in a number of western regions of Ukraine weather conditions caused damage to crops and partially suspended the implementation of field work.

So, in the Khmelnitsky region, heavy continuous rains prevented the mass planting of potatoes, which is traditionally held here in early May. Because of the rains, the soil was oversaturated with moisture and even just entering the site is problematic. Such weather threatens the potato with bacterial diseases, such as brown rot, which affects all parts of the plant.
