Alexei Gordeev, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation on issues of agriculture, natural resources and ecology, is sure that Russian farmers will be able to get a generous grain harvest of at least 118 million tons this year.

Once again, Gordeev shared such ambitious hopes as part of a working visit to the agrarians of the Voronezh region.

In the process of meeting with farmers, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that it is absolutely impossible to hope for such a productive outcome of the campaign to collect grain crops.

Since the hostess of the situation will be, first of all, the weather, which will form on the Russian expanses. And the main potential enemy of the crop is drought.

However, agrometeorologists have not yet discerned in forecasts of dramatic climatic jumps, experts say Roshydromet. So at the moment, the hope of 118 million tons of grain remains fully justified.

It will not be superfluous to note that Aleksey Gordeev is betting on the grain industry this year also because agricultural production in the Russian Federation has recently been confidently demonstrating positive dynamics, despite the fact that the development process was preceded by many years of decline.
